Big Sapling Publishing is a sole proprietorship owned by Justin Pawlak. Originally established as a platform for self-publishing children’s books, Big Sapling is dedicated to stories that spark imagination and growth. While our roots remain firmly planted in children’s literature, the platform is expanding to include a diverse range of titles for older readers, including the Urban Fantasy series Reckoning of the Twelve.
Big Sapling Publishing’s name and logo are inspired by the idea of growth and learning at a young age. Justin Pawlak’s first book, “Whooo Whooo Whoooo’s There?” started as story he told his son, Xavier. Xavier’s love for books opened Justin’s eyes to how much more joy kids could experience if his story was in a children’s book and made available to all.
The child in the logo is Xavier reading under a tree, but as with children, young trees are still saplings, able to be shaped and grown by what we do with them.
